Wei Loong & Lilian's Private House-Warming Dinner

Lilian, my second Big Sister  just got married and so she has moved to a new home to settle down with her husband. I was fortunate enough to be invited to their housewarming as it was a private one, only immediate family members were invited. (I'm one of them!) *Feel like a VIP*

As I stepped inside their home, I was adoring the interior design... it was customized simply yet elegant. Resulted in a more spacious, cozyclassy-like home. Home design ideas mostly came from her husband aka my brother in law (Yo, creative engineer!) No photos of the house to show here though as that would be me being too intrusive already, duhhh.)

Dinner was more of like a potluck/potbless, with the newly-weds and family members contributing variety types of refreshment.

Prepared by My Brother-In-Law, Wei Loong
Vegetarian Salad
 Beefy Cheesy Baked Potatoes
I was especially elated to see the beefy cheesy baked potatoes because my BIL & Big Sister have  been planning for a week beforehand to make this (can I say "...just for me?" pffft...) after seeing me salivating over this at Pasar Ramadhan. :D (Very sweet kan?) :D :D

Cheesy Beef  Sold @ RM4/piece at Bazaar Ramadhan SS18

*Although drooling enough, I am a very price-sensitive person and did not give in to this kind of temptation during my Bazaar Ramadhan walk (Yea, I Rock!) ;)

Prepared by My Second Big Sister, Lilian
Nata de Coco Cocktail
Prepared by Ann (Wei Loong's Sister)
Beef Lasagna
Prepared by Wei Loong's Mom
Black Pepper Fried Udon

Fried Dumplings / Sui Gaos

Fried Marinated Chicken Wings

Also sponsored by Wei Loong's Mom
Roasted Duck

There were fruits, cakes and other drinks served later (contributed by other family members) but I was already busy enjoying my food so I didn't bother snapping others already. Heee.

All yummiliciousz. Overall, I would say my favourites of the day were the lasagna & the beefy-cheesy baked potatoes. ^.^

My Favourites~
Big thanks to Wei Loong & Lilian for inviting me to their house and for such friendly treatment. It was indeed a warm feeling stepping inside their new home. Also, heartiest thanks to all that contributed directly or indirectly to my stomach. ;)

A happy stomach makes a happy heart! *BIG SMILES*

Lunch: Indian Economic Rice @ Asia Cafe, SS15 Subang Jaya

Started my AugustLunch eating at Indian Economic Rice Stall @ Asia Cafe.

Big Portion of Rice + 3 types of Vegetable (White Lobak + Lady's Finger + Peria Goreng)
+ Tandoori Chicken Pieces + Rasam Soup + Pappadom.
Pros:
  • The Indian Man charged me RM 4.50 -  fair pricing I would say.
(after being overcharged by Chinese Economic Rice Stall)
  • Friendly staff/owner.
Cons:
  • Most of the dishes there were rather oily.
  • The rasam wasn't served hot.
  • They do not have vegetable yogurt (tairu)

Breakfast & Brunch @ Hailam Kopitiam SS15 Subang Jaya

It's Monday... So Happy Monday folks!

To avoid having Monday blues, it's important for one to partake wholesome breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day.

For today, I decided to try having breakfast at a new place to better my mood and I chose Hailam Kopitiam.

I remember Mum always reminds me that the best breakfast is egg yolk because it's not that heavy but at the same time can make you "tahan" till lunch.

But I knew it won't be enough, that's why I ordered a bigger meal which is their Set Meal 1.

Toasted Sliced Bread with Butter Kaya, Two Half-Boiled Eggs & Hot Coffee/Tea O for RM 7.20
In their menu, the egg yolks looks perfect and rounded. But when served to me, it didn't turn out that well as expected - not up to standard.

Egg yolks were not rounded and compact. In other words, this indicated staleness. Toasted sliced bread was nearly cold when served. (Could be because of the air-conditioned setting)

However, I still decided to stayed for a while till my class started since they have Wifi Network there.

So I ordered some snacks for MyBrunch.

Despite my negative remarks, it was not all that bad. I would say the staffs there were friendly and helpful.

For e.g they were willing to customized my Set Meal 1 (I changed my Kopi-O to Kopi Hailam). Also they brought me Mayonaise for my French Fries when I asked.

Plus, they allowed me to switch my seating from outdoor to indoor (Not that I'm too fussy, but the mosquitoes liked my blood so much so I really had to make a move).

Outdoor : Quite Windy but you may suffer from Mosquito bites!

Indoor : Cozy Cushion With Free Power Supply

Good hospitality that I felt like a boss during my time spent there. Haha. :D

Overall, I think it's still a reasonable place to hangout if you just need an internet connection and at the same time wants to enjoy a cuppa.

An alternative to the expensive Starbucks if you're on a budget.

Okie dokkie, time to head for my lecture class. Till then, chiouszzz!
